Teaching Series: UNDERSTANDING THE MINISTRY OF THE HOLY SPIRIT
Introduction:
- What most believers know about the Holy Ghost is power, but that is only one of the seven Spirits of God that rested upon Christ which includes: The Spirit of the Lord (Power), The Spirit of Wisdom, Knowledge, Understanding, and Counsel, might, and the Spirit of the fear of the Lord – Isa. 11:1-2/ Rev. 5:6/ 1 Cor. 12:4-7
- This is why the Holy Ghost is referred to as the Spirit of grace, that is, the source of multifaceted engracement that enables believer to fulfil their glorious destiny in Christ – Heb. 10:29/ 1 Cor. 15:10
The teaching series for our Sunday services this month is captioned: “Understanding the Ministry of the Holy Spirit”
Week 1 (Sunday 1st Oct. 2023): Understanding the Ministry of The Holy Spirit – Part 1
The Spirit of Revelation – Eph. 1:17- 18
- The Holy Ghost is our helper in accessing the revelation of the Word – 14:26/ 1 Cor. 2:10-12/13
- The Holy spirit is the messenger of the Covenant who unveiled the table of the covenant – Mal. 3:1-3/Heb.9:1-4/Job. 33:21-24
- The degree of revelation in which we walk is what determines the degree of glory we command – 1:5/ Jhn.1:9
- Our access to the realm of illumination is our access to the realm of unquestionable dominion because the dominion of light over darkness is instant and unquestionable – Jhn.8:12/ Mak. 1:28-37/ Luk. 4:33-36
- However, to flow in revelation, one must be born again and baptized in Holy Ghost – Act.2:38-41/ Jhn.14:26/ 1Jhn.2:20
- But to keep growing in revelation, you must keep engaging the truth already revealed to qualify for me – 6:46-49/ Phil. 3:16
Week 2 (Sunday.8th Oct. 2023): Understanding the Ministry of The Holy Spirit – Part 2
The Spirit of Faith – 2 Cor. 4:13/ Mak. 9:23
- The Spirit of faith empowers believers to believe all things – Act. 24:14/ Act. 14:19-20/ Phil.1:23-25
- Faith is key to victory over the battles of life – 1 Jhn 5:4/ Heb. 11:32-34
- Faith shall continue to be under increasing attack in this end time – Luk. 18:8/ Luk. 22:31
- The end time storms will require more than just faith, but strong faith – Heb. 11:33-34
- We can only quench all the fiery darts of the devil through the shield of faith –Eph 6:16/Dan. 3:14-28
- Principalities and powers over nations and kingdoms are brought to their knees by the force of faith – Eph. 6:12/ 1 Jhn. 5:4
- Faith, has the capacity to subdued kingdoms, and wrought righteousness–Dan. 6:10-28/Heb.11:33-34
- The deeper the revelation, the stronger the faith of the believer becomes – Eph. 3:1-5/ Phil.4:13
- Access to the spirit of faith demands a desperation like every other gift of the Spirit – 4:13 Isa. 44:3-4/ 2Kgs. 2:4-15
Week 3 (Sunday 16th Oct. 2023): Understanding the Ministry of The Holy Spirit – Part 3
The Spirit of Love – 2 Tim. 1:6-7
- Proven love for God never suffers defeat in battle – 1 Cor. 13:8
- To dwell in love is to dwell in God and God in us, which empowers us to live the overcomer’s life – 1 Jhn. 4:16/ Rom. 8:28
- To walk in perfect love is to be filled with all the fullness of God, which makes believers more than conquerors over the battles of life – Eph. 3:17-19/ Dan. 3:14-28
- Genuine love for God secures continuous access to divine secrets which make stars in the kingdom – Dan. 2:16-19/23-30/46/ Job 1:1-3/ Job. 29:4-17
- Every true lover of God ultimately emerges a breakthrough personality on the earth – 1 Jhn. 4:16-18
- Love is the covenant platform for the birth of giants – Jhn 15:15/ Rom. 8:35-39/ Act. 19:14-15
- David, a ‘proven-lover’ of God was never defeated in battle – 1 Sam. 17:26-50/ 1 Sam. 24:2-11/ 1 Chr. 29:3-9
- Paul, an ‘all-out-lover’ of God lived as more than a conqueror – Phi. 1:21-25/ 2Tim. 4:5-8/Rom. 8:35-38
- According to scripture, in these last days, the love of many shall wax cold – Mat. 24:12
- We need the Holy Spirit, who is the Spirit of love to empower us to sustain our love for God in season and out of season – 2 Tim. 1:7/ Act. 4:13/20
Week 4 (Wed. 22nd Oct. 2023): Understanding the Ministry of The Holy Spirit – Part 4
The Spirit of Sanctification – Rom. 1:4
- In this end time, Satan is ever on the hunt to get believers off balance and disconnect us from our glorious destiny – Luk. 22:31/ Heb. 12:1-4
- Iniquity shall abound in this end time and there shall be falling away of many – Mat. 24:12 2 Thes. 2:3-7
- End time defilement shall be on the increase – 2 Thes. 3:1-5
- But as we all know, Jesus is coming for a Church without a spot or wrinkle– Eph. 5:25-27/ 2 Cor. 11:1-2/ 19:7-9
- We need the Spirit of holiness to remain unshakable spiritually in this end times – 1:4/ Jhn 8:46
- The Holy Spirit is the refiner’s fire, He is our Sanctifier – Mal. 3:1-4/ Mat. 3:11-13/ 1Cor. 6:11/ Rom. 8:13
- We need the help of the Holy Spirit to live a sanctified life because it is impossible in our own strength – Ezk. 36:27/ Rom. 8:1-2/ Cor. 6:9-11
- There shall be a down-pour of the rain of righteousness upon the church in these last days – Isa. 62:3-5/ Isa. 32:15-17/ 2 Cor. 11:1-3
Week 5 (Sunday 29thOct 2023): Understanding the Ministry of The Holy Spirit – Part 5
The Spirit of Wisdom – Deut.34:9
- The last days are days of the manifestation of the manifold wisdom of God – Eph. 3:8-11
- Most issues in the end time will defile human and intellectual solutions – Dan. 2:1-15/16-19/ 5:1-11
- The days of darkness and gloominess is fast closing in on us– Joel. 2:1-3/ Exo. 10:21-23
- But the end time Church shall be endued with the manifold wisdom of od that will humble the world around us – Eph. 3:10-11
- Anything that is from above is above all, that includes the wisdom from above – Jhn. 3:31/ Jam. 3:17
- We saw how wisdom from above enthroned Joseph – Gen. 41:15-16/38-44
- Wisdom from above also enthroned Daniel – 2:16-19/23-30
- The end time Church is ordained a reigning Church and shall be the wisdom bank of the world – Isa. 2:2-3/ Mic. 4:1-2
- But we need the impartation of the Holy Spirit to operate in this realm of wisdom – Deut. 34:9/ 2 Tim. 1:6-7/ 2 Pet. 3:15
