TOPIC: UNDERSTANDING THE IDEA OF PROSPERITY
Scripture; Psalm 35: 27. Let them shout for joy, and be glad, that favour my righteous cause: yea, let them say continually, Let the LORD be magnified, which hath pleasure in the prosperity of his servant.
Beloved, I welcome you to another Moment of Daily Encounter! Yesterday we established that that there are two extreme ends to the matter of prosperity!
On one end is getting God out of the picture and pursue prosperity by all means with the notion that after all God wants me to prosper.
At the other end is believing that prosperity is of the devil and as such refuse to pursue it entirely. Well we are here to strike a balance because the idea of prosperity is of God.
The balance is that we pursue prosperity with God! We are not going to shy away from it or pretend as if we don’t need it, neither are we going to keep God out of our lives because we want to prosper. Infact, you will be more prone to sins if you perpetually walked in abject poverty.
Even though we don’t serve God because we want Him to prosper us, yet prosperity is part of our consolations as we walk with God.
Now that we have taken God as our father who is the most prosperous father in the universe, we: have also taken the family name, therefore not to prosper will negate our new identity.
From our anchor scripture, we could see God taking pleasure in our prosperity (PS.35:27)!
This implies that your poverty does not give God pleasure. Prosperity is a spirit, so also poverty is a spirit! So, anywhere you see poverty, wage war against it because it is a terrible spirit that does not allow any thing good or progress to happen anywhere it is found.
This explains why you could see people with different class of degrees yet poor where as someone who could not get education beyond primary school is more wealthy than the university graduate.
You could see someone with a very good Skill yet nobody is patronizing him. There are so many people who occupied one position or the other who should not be there if not the spirit of prosperity.
What then is the definition of prosperity?
The word prosperity comes from the word to prosper, which means to do well! To prosper also means to possess an ability or power to meet the needs of mankind regardless of what those needs are.
What are the different categories of prosperity?
1. Relational prosperity: This is a prosperity where you posses a quality relationship that gives opportunity to express love and care. You could easily improve yourself and use it to affect lives positively.
You could share, learn, affect and impart destinies and build a lasting legacy for generation that follow. David had such relational prosperity.
The truth is that if you don’t have such relational prosperity, what you know and have, die with you the moment you bid the world farewell, it cannot be handed over to the next generation.
2. Mental prosperity:
This is the prosperity of the mind. It is possessing a well developed mind that can be deployed to improve the quality of your life and that of others. It is possessing a mind that can break the prejudice of racism, cultural or gender difference like Daniel in the land of Babylon; he had mental prosperity that made him ten times better than his contemporaries(Dan.1:20). The secret to mental prosperity is investments into your mind through studies and research that can help it develop maximally.
3. Spiritual prosperity: It is possessing a regenerated spirit. That is being born again, getting transformed and empowered to live like Christ. It is possessing a life that understands the operations of the kingdom and deploying it to benefit humanity.
Spiritual prosperity is so vital because if you are not born again and get transformed, you can kill because of money.
Those who cheat, cut corners every time are either not born again or born again but not transformed! Anytime you compromise to become rich, you mock God if truly you are His child.
Beloved, perhaps you were once born again but did not become transformed and this has led you into some messy situations and now your hands are soiled,
I have good news for you: Jesus is still interested in you, so don’t condemn yourself, you can still return to Him. If you are willing and would like to make peace with God, kindly reach out to me for prayers.
Remember this: Heaven is real and hell is real! The decision to ignore Jesus now might means regrets in eternity. Give your heart to Jesus today.
– Father thank you for your word to me today.
– Father endue me with the spirit of prosperity as I open my heart to learn the idea of prosperity in Jesus name.
– I declare every satanic agenda to keep you in the land of poverty expired now in the name of Jesus.
– We curse the root of poverty out of your life and family in the name of Jesus.
It is a new dawn!
