Theme: True Safety
Text: Proverbs 18:10
“The name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe.”
True safety is found in God. When we unite with God and become engrafted (joined, united, or one) with Him through the word. We become unmovable by the enemy or circumstances.
“He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence. He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.”
The above scriptures made it clear that only those who dwell in the secret place of God will enjoy safety, regardless of the noise and happenings around.
“But whoso hearkeneth unto me shall dwell safely, and shall be quiet from the fear of evil.”
To know the Word of God, and trust Him guarantees safety and peace. Listen to the voice of wisdom. By wisdom, I mean Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ is the wisdom of God.
Whoever listens to Him shall have safety and shall have peace even in the presence of the chaos in the world. Abiding in the Word of God guarantees peace in the midst of chaos.
“These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheers; I have overcome the world.”
True safety is in Jesus Christ. Dwelling in the Word gives true rest. Jesus is the Word of God made flesh (John 1:14).
The Word of God transforms us from who we are to whom God designed us to be (2 Corinthians 3:18).
As we study the scriptures and meditate on God’s word therein, we’re changed into the image of God in which we’re recreated. We’re transformed by the Word, so spend time studying the word consistently. If you abide in the Word, and declare what He says about you, you’d become everything you have seen in the Word, believed, and declared.
I challenge you to meditate on the scriptures and declare those things He says about you until they become your reality. Everything you believe in God’s word is available for you to access. Just declare that it’s established in your life, and walk in faith as if you already have it, and you’d have it.
You must befriend the Word before the Word can work for you. Build intimacy with God through constant fellowship in personal prayer, study of the scriptures, and using your abilities to serve and win souls for God. Living in purity is not negotiable for anyone who must have true safety in the midst of storms and challenges. Righteousness is a defense, but sin gives the devil access to the life of the sinner.
Righteousness is imputed to everyone who receives Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour, and continues to walk according to God’s standard in scriptures. Go for righteousness by receiving Jesus Christ into your heart. True safety is in Jesus Christ.
Point of Action: The righteous enjoys God’s protection, always. Maintain your stand in God and call upon Him whenever you need defense from evil.
