Unstoppable destiny is not a scriptural term; however, God’s will is unstoppable. Isaiah 46:9-11, “remember the former things of old; for I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like me, declaring the end from the beginning and from ancient times things not yet done, saying, ‘My counsel shall stand, and I will accomplish all my purpose…I have spoken it, I will also bring it to pass; I have purposed it, I will also do it.’ ”
These scriptures teach us that God knows the end of a matter from its beginning. And if He decides to do something, He will definitely do it!
We are certainly thankful that the supreme God of the universe has infinite wisdom, love, power, and justice. And all of His purposes are planned with these wonderful four attributes.
However, God has created mankind with free will. So, when God makes a plan, does He ever force someone to do something? Does God ever violate our free will? NO!
The Bible is full of accounts where people chose to oppose God, and God permitted it. God did not coerce them into acting one way or another.
Some may read scriptures like Exodus 9:12 (“But the LORD hardened the heart of Pharaoh, and he did not listen to them, as the LORD had spoken to Moses.”) and think this is an example where God violated Pharaoh’s free will. This is a misunderstanding.
Essentially, God knew that the result of ending a plague would make Pharaoh think he was winning against God. When God showed His power and mercy by ending a plague, Pharaoh, even more stubbornly (hardened his heart) decided to keep Israel in bondage.
Other Bible verses which seem to teach God forces people against their wills are misunderstood in the same manner.
Jesus said, “…true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship Him.” John 4:23. God wants His intelligent creation (people and angels) to obey Him and to worship Him because they love Him. He wants His children to freely desire to do His will.
